Britney Spears And Don Philip: ‘X Factor’ Judge Boots Singer Who She Recorded With In 1999 (VIDEOS)

The second season of Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor” kicked off Wednesday night and new judge Britney Spears was put to the test when judging “X Factor” contest Don Philip, who she recorded a song with back in 1999.

Philip, a now a 32-year-old vocal coach who is hard on his luck, was Spears’ duet partner on the song “I Will Still Love You,” which was featured on her 1999 smash-hit debut album, …Baby One More Time. When he took the stage, Philip was an emotional wreck.

“I’ve been really working hard. I’ve been doing more writing and producing, trying to really find my sound,” Phillip said to the “X Factor” cameras before the audition. “I’ve had a lot of ‘maybes’ and a ton of ‘almosts.’ This one thing. I think this is my final chance. There’s no more after this. This has to be it for me. I’ve tried every other way.”

But when Cowell asked Philip what he had done in the last 10 years, the vocal coach broke down in tears and discussed his professional letdowns. Unfortunately, the letdowns continued when Philip gave a dismal performance of Beyonce’s “Halo” and the tense judges, including Spears, were forced to tell him “no.”

Fox chose not to air the portion of the segment when Philip revealed that he is gay on stage, Celebuzz reported.

Philip took to his Facebook to respond:

Now this is what i have to say about Britney Spears and I now know this to be true..–Britney didn’t care about me being gay—she is the least judgmental person I know-she accepts folks that accept and embrace themselves and their differences!! i will still love you britney for always.. and now to focus on the job at hand to build that house in Manila for Brother Joe Dean..and the CHILDREN…

It looks like Britney’s X Factor promo trails is underway! The singer covers the October issue of ELLE magazine. Unsurprisingly, the spread features a cameo from fiancé Jason Traywick.

In the mag she talks about how she met her fiancé how she sometimes regrets some of her questionable fashion choices.

Britney Spears and her fiancé Jason Trawick have revealed how their relationship went from business to pleasure.

According to Trawick, who previously was one of Spears’s agents, the singer made the first move, he tells ELLE magazine in its October cover story.

“It was kind of one of those things where she moved, like, turned around, so we were face-to-face and then …, ” says Trawick, who became engaged to Spears last December.

But before Trawick, 39, can spill any more juicy details, his fiancée interrupts him, saying, “Okay, that’s enough information, sweetie. It was sweet, just say that.”

Spears, 30, is more straightforward when it comes to discussing her feelings toward fame.

“I guess I’ve been under the microscope so long that I don’t even pay attention to the nonsense anymore,” she says. “I gave up getting upset about things people make up about me a long time ago.”

The X Factor judge admits that balancing her career with her life as a mother to Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5, doesn’t always allow for high fashion.

“I love my jeans and my sweats – I’m really just a tomboy at heart. So it’s really hard for me to be like Kim Kardashian and be makeup and hair ready every time I go out of my house,” she says. “I’m not a believer in that, you know?”

She does admit to occasional regrets about her fashion choices. “When you do wear those sweats, you’re like ‘Oh God, I should step it up a notch,’ ” she says

Well, she might think it’s tough to be like Kim, but we think she looks absolutely stunning in this spread!
